Understanding Compare

The Compare feature in BarrierBreak A11yNow enables teams to analyze differences between two scans of the same project.
It provides a clear view of how accessibility issues have changed across testing cycles, helping teams monitor progress and identify regressions.

By comparing scans, teams can evaluate the impact of fixes, releases, or content updates on accessibility outcomes.

Comparison Overview

When two scans are compared, the system highlights changes in accessibility results, including:

  • Variations in the number of failed issues
  • Differences in items requiring manual validation
  • Changes in suggestions or best-practice recommendations
  • Pages with increased or decreased issue counts
  • Newly introduced issues
  • Issues that are no longer detected

This consolidated view helps teams quickly assess accessibility trends without reviewing individual scans separately.

Comparison Results

The comparison view presents accessibility changes between the selected scans, allowing teams to:

  • Measure remediation effectiveness
  • Detect regressions introduced by updates
  • Monitor recurring issues
  • Track accessibility improvements over time
  • Support reporting and internal reviews

Comparison results reflect the state of the tested pages at the time each scan was executed.

Scope of Comparison

  • Only scans within the same project can be compared
  • Results depend on the pages included in each scan
  • Comparison reflects scanning configurations used during execution
